I had an AMD-K6 (7?) that was a couple years old when I got it in 2001
and ran almost continuously as my file server until last summer when
hardware issues encouraged me to shut it down.  Drive space was the
only limiting factor and once I added a scsi card and ide raid in 2003
or so, even that became irrelevant.
