[Novalug] NOVALUG meets Saturday: MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL

Perhaps this is old news - but how well do MySQL and PostgreSQL really pass
the ACID test? Also, conformance to the latest SQL standards?

Also, not sure if any of you read this - but some time ago i read something
to the effect that Oracle bought the "engine" out from under MySQL and that
MySQL responded that they would re-code their own engine for MySQL. It's
enough to decide which database to use - now you have to decide which
"engine" to put in the database!? That does not inspire confidence in me...
but I'm still curious... and keeping an eye on developments... ;-)
