I had no problems upgrading Ubuntu.
My Debian box is essentially stuck on etch now since it looks like
support for the 2.4 kernel is going away. (Judging by the fact that I
can't upgrade in unstable anymore.) I'm stuck with 2.4 until I rebuild
it since the old Debian installer let me use the onboard RAID without
devicemapper. I don't see a way to get to 2.6 without redoing the
filesystem.
