Kernel modules are very sensitive to a specific kenrel version. If
ubuntu provides a new kernel, you will probably need new drivers.
If you install the nvidia-glx ubuntu package, the drivers will be
updated for you. If you install the drivers on your own, apt doesn't
know about upgrading them.
