I have a Zaurus C-3100 I play around with. It truly is
a great device. I think I got it from pricejapan.com
over a year ago for around $500 US. The forums at
http://oesf.org/forums have lots of information about
all Zaurus stuff. Meanies stuff is the most
interesting, like running X applictions on the device.

Check out the stuff for pdaxQTRrom. Very cool stuff.
With a bluetooth card and a bluetooth phone, getting
on the net anywhere is really easy. Bluetooth keyboard
and even bluetooth mouse is possible with the right
kernel and drivers (I have used both). Of course, you
can use USB keyboard and mouse, too ;). Debian pocket
is great, too (think about apt-get on a tiny PDA). I
liked having Gaim on my device for awhile. ssh is
coooool. RDP and VNC make it easy to have remote word
processing, spreadsheet, and full browser capability,
too (You just have to have a way to host that).
Whether or not the Zaurus is right for you is another
question. What do you want to do with the device? This
is the question I ask all people when they ask me for
hardware advice. This holds true for desktops,
laptops, and even PDA's(BlackBerrys/Palms/WinMobiles).
