Been using it to backup xp to Linux for years.

It is not free, but I have not been able to find anything free that is easy to configure and that works and will back up to a shared network folder.

One thing to watch for is depending on the version of Samba you use it might want to backup everything instead of just what changed - there was some setting I had to tweak which I no longer remember..

Primary is Windows, secondary is Linux. We will not be moving the
primary to Linux for multiple reasons, but suffice to say, she uses
software that requires windows.

The Seagate backup software supplied with this drive is crash prone and
has more bugs than an entomologist.

Can someone recommend an easy to use, reliable backup and scheduling
tool for doing backups to external hard drive (in WinXP)? I would
prefer that recommendations are made from strong references or experience.

If not, I understand that LUG doesn't mean Windows. :)

Thanks.

Ken
