[Novalug] AC97 Sound

I just got done upgrading from SUSE 9.3 to OpenSUSE 10.2 on this machine.
Everything is working except my sound volume is lower than it was
before. It uses AC97 on the motherboard for sound output.

I've cranked the volume up all the way in the mixer, but I still need to
turn my speaker volume to max to get any decent sound volume. One thing
I noticed that was different - Under 9.3, The sound driver was listed as
an odd driver for strange hardware, while 10.2 had an actual driver for
AC97.

Anybody have an idea for something I can tweak? Do you think using a
sound card in a PCI slot would help?
