[Novalug] S-Video

I've got OpenSUSE 10.2 installed on a Thinkpad T30. What I want to do is play 
back a slide show to a TV set. I have an adaptor from s-video to tvout. Is 
there anything else I need to make this work?

At the moment, I'm not having any luck.
