 	F8 certainly seems (no stopwatch) to boot faster here
than F7 or F6 did. I'm not sure whether it's running slower on my
oldest machine (whose main use is to run Opera against a dozen or
so weather tabs), or whether that's just because I'm trying out
Opera 9.50 Beta on that machine.

 	From what I've skimmed on
gmane.linux.redhat.fedora.general, it seems to make quite a
difference what you install.

 	My practice, based entirely on subjective impressions of
tedium level, is to run the customizer on a fresh install, *and*
run pirut later -- when I get around to it. That way, a lot of
stuff (games, telnet, chat, and lots more) never goes onto the
machine in the first place.

 	Fwiw, pirut's a lot more thorough than the anaconda
customizer; but going clear through it even once (and I do, first
by category, and later down the list) takes me quite a while;
otoh, I can do pirut in stages, while the anaconda customizer has
to finish before you go on.

 	I'll be very glad of comments & hints from the more
clued-in here!
