[Novalug] siege

Hi,

  Has anybody has used siege for benchmarking a Web Server? I'm keeping 
on getting this error:

  Error: socket: connection timed out.: Operation now in progress
 
  The developer of siege claims that the web server should say why is 
this failing but I'm wondering if this is a siege issue or OS issue.

  From my humble opinion, if the socket times out, the web server will 
never know that it is very likely there was an atttempt of connecting 
from the client

  Any ideas or where should look at? Or any other benchmark tool that is 
more reliable, easy to use (and open source) ?
