Hi people,

Since this is my first email to the forum, please do excuse me for any errors related to posting rules. I am a newbie when it comes to using vmware, but am interested in the following scenario? using? virtual machines.

- Users should be able to login on their guest OS and run their server based scripts on a browser where the server would be the host OS. However, I do want to make sure that the sever would not crash down if? there's an error in the user script.? Also? the users should be able to remotely work with their guest application or OS by logging on a VNC like client. Now to implement this I had the following solutions on my mind :

?1) Use VMplayer to log in and access the shared directories from the host - but I don't know if this would work for remote login.

2) Create a VMFS consisting of? vmdisks for each user on a guest workstation with with many instances of workstations on a ESX server. This would be useful for a distributed system.

Please do let me know which one of the solution sounds good. I would be glad if any of you could come up with any more interesting solution for the given problem. Thanks a lot

regards
Sameer
