i used this howto to configure my postfix (with other changes not shown
here):
http://workaround.org/articles/ispmail-sarge/
but the part to pay attention to is the TLS for SMTP and POP3 stuff (you
should use secure pop3 and/or secure imap). i use thunderbird to read my
mail and just tell it to save the username+password (otherwise you'll be
asked everytime you want to read or send). also, i had to do some fiddling
with thunderbird to be able to use it (i don't have it here right now, but
username had to be <emailaddress at domain.com@domain.com>. the mysql part of
this how to breaks up the incoming username and domain to check it against
the tables. found this works but never got around to editing my configs to
just take the <emailaddress at domain.com>.
