Note that you will find anecdotal evidence that any disk drive
manufacturer makes completely bad or completely excellent drives.  It's
not really enough to base a decision on, but people have their
convictions.  For example, I've had absolutely no problems with the
dozen or so WD drives I've used, but plenty of problems with the
Maxtors.  Neither sample is large enough to draw a conclusion, and I
gaurantee someone on this list can reply saying the opposite.
