[Novalug] Game installation help needed

I am trying to install card games on both a Ubuntu Dapper machine and a
Kubuntu Feisty machine. I am further along on the Ubuntu machine and am
concentrating on it.

Since I could not find card games (I don't say they aren't there, only
that I couldn't find them!) I downloaded a file called
pysol-4.60.tar.gz, then did tar -xzvf pysol-4.60.tar.gz to my desktop. A
lot happened. When I do ls -lt /home/chasmhowe/Desktop several lines
appear, including one that reads

 -rwxr-xr-x 1 chasmhowe chasmhowe 1900 date&time pysol

My task, I guess, is to do something to create icons for the games I and
-- very important -- my wife might play (FreeCell, Klondike) that we can
click on.

Can/will someone guide me, please.
