Sharing my personal experiences with pain, keyboards & mice: I've been
using a Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro for years now. It has helped a
lot. Unfortunately (IMO), they've changed the design a few times and no
longer make one just like it. The last one I purchased in a store (for
the wife & family) has a strange configuration for the
insert-delete-home-etc. cluster that I find extremely annoying. So I
did stock up on my preferred model thanks to eBay. My main keyboard is
now _many_ years old, and still going strong.
On the mouse side, I used to use the large right-handed Microsoft mouse.
Of course they changed the design of that as well, and I think that
most variants now are ambidextrous - ie., they don't fit either hand
properly. I switched to the Evoluent Vertical Mouse 2
(http://www.evoluent.com/) a while back and I love it. My arm/hand goes
naturally to it, and has completely eliminated all wrist and forearm
pain. I think it might be difficult to use if you have small hands, but
with my large paws it's perfect. It only took about a week to
completely get acclimated. I see that they've got a new model out now
(http://www.evoluent.com/comparison_vm3.htm), and I'll probably get one
so I don't have to switch back to a "flat" mouse at work.
