Yes, the GUIs are full of these little "features" - and can drive you crazy.

I believe you must logoff and then logon for it to take effect. NOT reboot.

I agree, your GUI settings appear to be good. Sorry I couldn't help - had
hoped the GUI was causing the problem or would at least reveal something.
