[Novalug] Lost Keyboard

I've done some more experimentation with my keyboard problem.

1. If I boot from a Knoppix disk, everything works.
2. If I log in as root, it works.
3. If I create a new user, the user can use the key board.

I figure it has to be a configuration file that got hosed. Anybody have any 
idea what it would be?
