Cannot share from experience, but this looks as if it could be useful: http://www.linuxdevices.com/articles/AT9423084269.html

I know this comes up from time to time, but the tech changes so quick
that I figured I'd ask again.

The time has come for me to pass in my company cell phone and get my
own. The good part is that I get to pick it out :-) So, I went to look
at the OpenMOKO but it seems they arent shipping right now.

Is there anything similar that is shipping? I'm probably going with an
AT&T/Cingular contract but if someone has something technical to sway me
elsewhere, I'll listen. I like some of the Verizon features + price, but
I can't just switch SIM cards then. And if I get something like an
OpenMOKO, you can be sure I will mess it up from time to time
programming/modifying so I have to have some boring 'fall back' phone to
change to since I will need it for work.
