I used a manila file folder and some aluminum foil to make a parabolic
reflector that seems to be working pretty well, using one of the
templates:

That said, I have a question for the LUG members: how does one go
about measuring the strength of the field? Do I need some special
device, or can I run some software with my wireless NIC to get
numbers? The one-to-four-bars graphic that KNetworkManager gives me
doesn't seem to refresh frequently enough to be useful for mapping the
field.
