I have USB wifi device using the RTL8187 chipset. My kernel is too old,
so I found instructions on how to compile a kernel with builtin rtl8187
support. The instructions were for the 2.6.23 kernel. I dl-ed the latest
kernel - 2.6.25, uncompressed it, did the make menuconfig, and was unable
to find the option to build the rtl8187 support.
Question - is rtl8187 support still available for the newest kernels, and
if so, where did they hide it?
Alternate question - would it be easier to just stick with the older
(2.6.23) kernel and not play guessing games?
Even better question - did anyone get a USB wifi "stick" devices using
the rtl8187 working on their linux machine, and how did ya do it?
