Earlier this morning I announced plans to move the Linux lists from Microsoft
Windows XP to Microsoft Vista and this caused many of you to become very
angry. Some suggested it might be some sort of April fools joke.

Because of the last minute outburst of emails emphatically requesting that we
move away from Microsoft products, this gave us the opportunity to try
something completely different. Since Greg Pryzby of novalug is a MacOS fan,
we thought we'd give MacOS a chance to run the mailing lists.

Our upgrade to MacOS is mostly complete, as you can see with the traffic of
incoming mail from the various Linux lists. This are working quite well and
MacOS is able to handle the volume of emails very well.

The only problems remaining at this point stem from connectivity issues.
Since we actually chose Greg's iPhone for our MacOS host, our connectivity to
the internet depends on the distance between Greg's pants and the nearest Wifi
hostpost.

This means that your email client may occasionally report "host not found"
errors when trying to send mail while Greg is in the grocery store, driving on
the highway or in the far northeast corner of his lawn.

We are working on attaching a high-gain antenna to Greg's pants to correct
this issue, but this is only experimental.

Thanks, again, for your patience. We appreciate it on this special day.
