What do you think of it?

As far as enhancing(upgrading) the firmware there seems to be two camps
and a number of possible configurations.
 1) WL700gE & Kamikaze

    Boot from ROM(image) and install only custom software
in /shares/MYVOLUME1/opt. Customize using the OptWare package setup

    Boot from HardDisk filesystem and customize. (OptWare packages)
 
    Boot from USB filesystem(image) and customize. (OptWare packages)
      {I'm not sure what advantage this gets you}

 2) WL700gE & K.Furge

Which route did you go and why?

Note I'm planning on using one for a home WireLess Hub, Print server,
Firewall/router and limited (mostly) local access only data storage.
  (storage access and file transfer will be by 'ssh' access only)
