mine (received yesterday) works reasonably well with:

note that for $30 you get what you pay for.  it hangs every now and
then (and groans and grinds a lot more).
several people have put together some control software for this and
some other ones like it.

anyone else have things they can stick to a linux system and have fun
with that they'd like to pass along?
