Doesn't that simply prove that laws don't always make much sense?

In defense of the folks putting anti-virus software on a voting
machine that should not be hooked up to a network.
We run Linux machines off the net for some classified work.
The DoD requires that I keep the antivirus stuff up to date
to maintain our security clearance.
So we keep Clam up to date, and scan the linux box for Windows
virii.
I'll wager that voting machines are required to have antivirus
stuff on them because of a regulation that says something like
"All Govt Use Computers Must Be Secure per section 3.1415)".
