Trying to climb out of the pit of ignorance, how does on "turn-on" /
enable iptables in Ubuntu? From what I've read, one *must* know what they
are doing w/ iptables or step quickly into deep doo.

Of course I don't even know, for the most part, which ports are enabled,
used, not used.
