- good for you! the n800 is great, especially with (2)
16GB SDHC cards...
- os2008 isn't perfect, but there are some nice
enhancements thanks to third-party developers... btw,
a new release just came out yesterday (fixes a race
condition), so i'd download and reflash since you just
got the unit (otherwise you'll have to reinstall all
your favorite stuff)...
- AFA evince:
http://repository.maemo.org/extras-devel/pool/chinook/free/e/evince/
(you'll want the maemo4 version [AKA Chinook])...
- some of my must-haves on the n800:
advanced backlight
aisleriot (solitaire)
becomeroot (easy root login)
diskusage
docreader (read .doc files)
evince (read pdfs)
fbreader (read many types of mobile files)
flite (speech synthesis)
fmradio (use n800's FM radio chip)
gnumeric (you know what this is)
leafpad (Hildonized text editor - handles big files)
maemorecorder (voice notes)
maemo-screengrabber
mplayer
omweather (great desktop wx applet)
openssh
osso-xterm
othello
sketch (painting)
statusbar-clock (very nice!)
tuxpaint
videocamera
wifiinfo
xgalaga
- plus the many, many other command-line programs...
- enjoy Linux in your pocket!
- and remember:
Linux: It's All Good!
