Nexuiz (http://alientrap.org) is one of my favorites.
The multiplayer is the best aspect of it -- and there is a single player
campaign with different modes - Team deathmatch, Capture the Flag,
RocketArena, and a couple of others.
Like I said, the most enjoyable aspect are the multiplayer games, and there
are usually active servers. I run a few (all the Galt's Gulch servers) and
they are quite popular, especially in the evening.
Check it out!
Development is active and they're about to come out with a new version.
