[Novalug] Puzzled

I'm relatively new to dealing with laptops so there are lots of things I run 
into that I never suspected were issues. Here's the latest.

I have a Thinkpad T-30 running Linux. I've been using a wireless card that 
plugs into the PCMCIA slot. It works great, but there's also an internal 
minipci slot. Recently, I came across a wireless card that will fit that uses 
the Atheros chip set. I figured "Why not?" and installed it.

Now it doesn't boot. Instead, I get a message about an unauthorized network 
card.

Whatthehell?
