 	I did, indeed; or rather, the current president of VTLUUG 
did for me. It's Debian 4.0.

 	But, errr..., duhhhh..., Whuddm-I lookinfer?? Everything 
I've clicked on there so far, starting with plain mplayer, has 
just eventually brought me around a loop of sites, back to where 
I started. None of them seem to actually download anything.

 	But Synaptic found mplayer itself, plus some dependencies 
--not the plugin nor the codecs; I have in searching for the 
plugin now, and will then search codecs (whatever those are).
