[Novalug] Re: Installing Nvidia drivers DID NOT go well (Computer boots to grub)

The problem seems to be that (and this is my best guess) the ^EH#$HE* driver
install for nvidia must also install a new kernel.

Can someone confirm that for me?

Once I booted with a rescue disk and mounted the /boot filesystem, my
(current)menu.lst file contains four lines, none of which point to a kernel.
My original menu.lst file had been renamed to menu.lst.old, dated today.

So I saved a copy of the current menu.lst file, copied the old file as
menu.lst, and can new boot, but none of the (non-failsafe) kernels (and their
are two of them) boot.

Basically, I highly irritated by this. It defies logic.

If I want to get screwed over by a driver install, I'll stick with Windows,
thank you very much.
