[Novalug] linux update security?

Like everything else in life, there's no "one answer". But one big
reason is that the Linux kernel code is open for all to read. Thus,
there are more eyeballs looking at the code for problems, if any,
which in turn makes for fixes being found and incorporated back into
the code. When I say "Linux", I'm referring to the OS or kernel only.
However, the same answer also applies to applications which run under
that kernel.
