 	depsolve, huh? I never did hear why it was; but the
fedora.general list on gmane was full of people who could install
from the initial F8 DVD, but couldn't upgrade.

 	When I finally got to Jo's machine, the respins were out;
I asked if they could do upgrades, and was assured they could.

 	Then I had such a fight getting a usable respin with
jigdo that I finally just did a fresh install, and copied her
stuff back onto it.

 	*After* that, of course, an excellent individual by the
name of RJB Day put up a page of a 'Fedora Cookbook' he's
writing, which clarified stuff enough so that I did get one.

 	I tried it on a thinkpad which was already running F8,
but hadn't been updated in a couple days. It added two things,
and yum update did nothing after that. If I can remember not to
update it for a few days (usually over ssh, since it lives in the
guest room), I'll try the re-spin again ....
