Using WXPR as an example, if you copy the link from their site you will get

http://eastweb.streamguys.com/wxpr64.m3u

This might not be the correct URL to use with streamripper -- sometimes
there are extra URLs in this file that have boilerplate announcements.
To discover the proper URL, save wxpr64.m3u to disk and use cat, pls
files work the same way.

cat wxpr64.m3u
#EXTM3U
http://amber.streamguys.com:4370 (this is the real URL to be used with
streamripper.)

if the -t option is used and the stream is interrupted by more than -m
(seconds), streamripper will restart capture but won't overwrite
previously captured material. It changes the unnumbered filename to the
next sequential name. These partial programs can be reassembled by
using the wildcard feature of bash after renaming the final unnumbered
clip to the next sequential number. Of course, the lost parts will be
missing.

cat \(*.mp3 > thistle.mp3

The labels could be used with audacity to break up the captured stream
into individual songs or pieces. You may not want to bother with this.

I collect multiple copies of Thistle & Shamrock (thistle) and Hearts of
Space (HoS) program from different call signs in parts of the country
that operated on different time zones. The times have to be converted
to local time for Kcron. m (mono) & s (stereo) although I have
experienced collecting both at once from the same station

This map helps me decided what time zone a call sign is in.

I guess I tried to telescope too much of my talk to be comprehensible to
anyone who didn't hear it.
