 	It did. So did Fedora. I downloaded the alternate ubuntu, 
but haven't gotten it to boot; call that one a coaster.

 	I have that machine booted onto partlogic 0.69 right now, 
with a live CD of Gparted in reserve; the trouble *seems* to be, 
afaict, that CentOS made the whole drive one big partition, which 
I need to shrink. (It's a 40 GB drive; I propose to leave CentOS 
15 GB -- if I can manage not to hose it with one of the 
partitioners.)

 	All clues gratefully entertained!
