Clearly, you're an auditory learner; I, on the other hand, am a visual
learner. I'll hear and understand what you say, but unless I have
written words or pictures to fix it in my mind, it evaporates. It also
helps me to take notes or try exercises.

As you say, it's difficult to balance what's on the slides and what
you say, especially since your audience will have both kinds of
learners.
