I thought this might be of interest.  I've used these notes on how to  
setup several things on Fedora to improve and add applications and  
functionality since Fedora Core 5.  This person has put together and  
excellent how to.

These instructions are pretty detailed and include setting up third  
party repositories.  They'll get you up and running with a VERY  
functional Fedora Desktop with multimedia capability.
