[Novalug] Need video card recommendation

For redhat based install you don't need to compile a kernel either to  
use nvidia based cards.

The driver from nvidia's site will install its self perfectly fine on  
Fedora/RHEL systems.

Also, if you add external repositories like atrpm.net you can use yum  
to install their precompiled Nvidia drivers:

http://atrpms.net/dist/f8/nvidia-graphics/

No kernel compiling needed.
