(sending again now that i actually finished the email):
i have to agree with greg. i bought an iPod classic (160gb disk) just
before a vacation late last year. there isn't a single consumer
electronics appliance that i've ever been more satisfied with.
they've done an outstanding job with seamless integration. i have all
of my CDs on it, numerous talk radio and aviation-related podcasts
(all free), several tunes and ablums that i've bought via itunes
(likely will not ever buy an actual CD again), and a couple of short
films. while i try to use linux wherever i can this area is too well
done to be parochial about. i've hacked around with a few things
in the past re running linux on them and using linux to rip/transcode
and it took just too much time. this is one of those things that i
just want to work (an appliance aspect).
