 	Well, I suppose it might be giving the wrong error 
message -- it keeps giving it, no matter what CD is in the drive, 
even if there's none.

 	The odd thing is that at first it booted only from its 
hard drive; then I did spot what must have been part of the BIOS, 
which let me specify which to boot from : hard drive, CD, or 
floppy. It let me once. But now I can't even get it to do that 
any more. It comes up with that wrong-kernel message, and nothing 
else.

 	I left it off all night. No difference.
