The Washington Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (DC
ACM) started offering Professional Development Seminars in 1968.
Despite their excellent reputation, the seminars have unfortunately been
on hiatus since 2001.

Traditionally, these seminars have presented high-quality lectures and
hands-on learning on topics of current interest to the local IT
community for a relatively low cost. The proceeds go to DC ACM, a
nonprofit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for
meaningful connections between the area’s academics, professionals, and
policymakers in the computer science and information technology fields.

The revitalized DC ACM, in cooperation with George Washington
University, is pleased to present its Fall 2008 offerings:

      Fundamentals of Intrusion Detection - September 12 & 13, 2008

      Intermediate Intrusion Detection - September 26 & 27, 2008

Both of these classes are two-day courses. They will be held in
computer labs at GWU, so space will be limited. Starting July 1st,
registration is being conducted online at:

http://www.dcacm.org/pd

Detailed information about the classes and how to register can be found
at the website. Payment is accepted online for credit cards. You may
also download a 6-page brochure:
