Has anyone who has the same combination of software I have had success
shopping on Amazon.com recently?
It is telling me i have to enable cookies - but not only are the cookies
enabled, amazon.com cookies are listed in my cookie list.
I have tried the work around they suggest:

I have cookies enabled, and I'm still getting error messages! What can I
do?
If you have enabled cookies in your browser and are still having trouble
adding items to your cart or completing a purchase, try signing in through
the "Sign in to get personalized recommendations" link on our home page
before adding items to your cart or checking out. In most cases, signing
in first should solve the problem.

but the site is still asking me to enable cookies.
as far as I can tell I cannot send them a "help me" message unless I am
logged in and I cannot log in without it recognigizing my browser.
grrrrrr!!!!!
