[Novalug] OT? : laptop case?

Now that I have a laptop that does both show topo maps
and talk to my GPSs, I'm starting to plan ways of using it. The
first thing that strikes me is that when once I have my landmarks
spotted, it'll mostly stay in its case; in fact, it'll spend a
lot of time there when I'm alone, too, and there's no nice soft
lap available for it to ride on.

The first thing I did with each of its predecessors was
to cut an envelope for it out of an old Ensolite pad. (Anybody
remember them? I've still got mine.) The whole shebang, computer
in ensolite envelope, goes into a nylon case; and one wardriving
expert of my acquaintance recommends *hanging* it from a trunk
lid with bungee cords.

I can do that easily in the truck, using the gun rack
behind the seat; and probably also in Jo's trunk, if/when it goes
anywhere in her car. I don't see how I can do it in the old
hatchback; I might be able to keep it on the back seat somehow
...

But what I'm thinking of at the moment is a pistol case.
A good solid metal one, with lots of foam inside. IF (big if)
they make them big enough. The thinkpad measures 10" x 12 1/2" x
1 1/2" -- *without* any ensolite envelope. It'd have to be a case
meant for three or four handguns at once, and preferably with
extra space for mouse, cables, thumbdrives (Hey, I gotta be
*able* to run linux on it!), power converter, etc., etc.

Anybody perchance familiar with such cases?
