First off, she never said anything would get fried (nor
did I); only that the new monitors wouldn't work with older PCs.
And she did mention some sort of card; what I know of electronic
cards would go in a gnat's eye.
All three on my desk were built for me by my electronic
friend who owns Lserv.com; I've just heard from him, and the
oldest should be OK with at least a somewhat bigger monitor. It
seems Staples carries square monitors, and we have one here now;
I'll go look tomorrow. (I have a bum knee at the moment (old
athletic injury), which doesn't like clutch pedals; but Jo'll be
home with her automatic shift, and the Staples is near the store
that carries heavy-duty knee braces.)
I may end up keeping a backup against the next
catastrophic LCD failure ...
