[Novalug] Emacs and vm

OK, fine, so it works with IMAP too.

The REAL limitation is number of messages in a particular folder. They
have to be sorted.

I USED TO use it for local mailboxes, or for popping. Now I use
Thunderbird and/or Seamonkey.

Now Gmail has it's own indexing schemes, does it not? If so, why use
anything else?

I would say that VM is a bad match for this. VM via IMAP should be OK
for other stuff, but sort your mail into folders of reasonable sizes.

I quit using VM when my folders got too big.
