I expect only that it will give me enough time to shut
everything down in an orderly way -- as it did yesterday.

Question: when all is shut down, and I turn the UPS
itself off last, does that kill any chance for this new thing to
drain off any power? Or not?

(I say UPS as if singular; in fact, I have a separate one
on each of four machines, one being downstairs. All are APC.)

If off really means dead off -- as it so often does not
with modern electronic gear -- I suppose I'm OK so long as the
power never fails for long when I'm out of town.
