There are detectors made to meet all these requirements. A good source
for information is ADI http://www.adilink.com/index.php

They have excellent phone and catalog support. There is a branch in
Alexandria.

I need to put some smoke alarms in the tenant cottage on our
property. So far my attempts to google hard wired smoke alarms has only
resulted in references to Kidde brand and according to the manufacturer
(I have written them) these are "not designed for use in garages or
attics" and are DAMAGED (not just fail to function) if they are exposed
to temps below 40 degrees F or over 100 degrees F. Well the cottage may
not be heated if it is empty and it is not air conditioned and this is
Maryland after all.

Any suggestions on smoke alarms that are less sensitive to
temperature are welcome.
