C'mon,

are you for real ??? Use QDVDAuthor. The new Wizard will let you create 
DVDMenus with a few mouse clicks including transcoding ( You can choose 
between VideoTrans, transcode, MEncoder, or the latest one is ffmpeg for 
the transcoding part ).

Plus if non of those suggestions work or you, you can simply ustomize 
the transcoding part by tweaking the parameters and save them as the 
default transcoding tool.

And should you run into problems, you can always drop me an e-mail or 
use the Message board.

Ps. It is the same  amount of work to get DVDs with menu as it is 
without menus ( just a few mouse clicks ).
PPs. I can give a short presentation on how to use the Wizard next time 
around if you like.
