AFAICT, the big web development editors on the Linux platform are
Bluefish (http://bluefish.openoffice.nl/), Screem
(http://www.screem.org/), and Quanta Plus
(http://quanta.kdewebdev.org/). One or more of them could have been
included in your base install, usually under "Development" or
"Programming." All of them are able to handle complex development
tasks.

If you want simple, but you don't want to use a general purpose editor
and your own knowledge of HTML, then you may like Kompozer (formerly
NVU, http://www.kompozer.net/) or Codetch (http://www.codetch.com/).

Lots to choose from.
