[Novalug] gparted busted my NTFS partition

Hi,

I have used systemrescuecd 0.3.x CD and performed what It should be a
normal partitioning with gparted.

I had two partitions: 1 NTFS partition bootable for Windows 2000,
another extended partition, one logical partition with NTFS (data) and
some space unpartitioned.

I created an extra NTFS partition in the unpartitioned space. I
rebooted, booted into Windows 2000 and format that new NTFS partition.
Everything seemed to be fine but when I started Alcohol the system
became unstable and started to report missing dlls. I rebooted and then
the Windows 2k partition couldn't be booted.

I ran systemrescuecd again and gparted reported that first NTFS
partition as unknown.

I have run testdisk and can't find any data there. ntfsfix reports it
as corrupted telling me

  NTFS signature is missing

I still can access the data partition, I'm backing it up now and
getting ready to do whatever I can try to get the OS NTFS partition back
or reinstall it.

  Any hints?

  Thanks

  Miguel
