The time has come to admit that I'm never going to install System
V Unix from 5.25" floppy disks again.

I've got the full distro kit for Microport System V Unix, suitable for
a 386 or better processor. All the docs, floppies, etc.

For the newer folks - in 1987. Microport was the first commercial
System 5 Unix for the PC platforms. SCO sold a Version 7 (or maybe
System III) kernel with many hacks that passed the System 5
compatibility suite, but Microport was honest and true *real* System V
Unix.

I'm loathe to toss this stuff in the dumpster, but I really have better
uses for the space it's occupying.

Would anyone be interested in this bit of history?

I might point out that System V Unix in 1988 supported UUCP and
many fast 2400b modems, but did not support networking as we know it
today or X Windows.
